Competing for Miss Universe is one thing but making it into the top 24 finalists is game changing! We caught up with the stunning Jordy Kuriata to find our what its really like to be a contestant in this international beauty pageant and we get the low down on her beauty routine.
1. You recently competed for Miss Universe Australia and made it into the top 24 which is huge! Tell us what kind of preparation did you have to do in order to compete?
Thank you so much, I am stoked to have got into top 24! For me, the preparation was about mentally building up the confidence to respond to the questions being asked of me on stage! It was hugely daunting to be thrown a question on our country, Australia, however once I was up there, everything flowed so easily. As you can imagine there was also a lot of beauty and fitness preparation required for the heats, its all about making yourself look your absolute best!
2. We imagine that being a model can be mentally tough, as you are booked for jobs based on your appearance, shape and size, how do you deal with this pressure?
Too be honest, if I don't get a job that I have casted for,
I don't take it personally and I treat it like a grain of salt. There is no denying that I would love to have been booked certain jobs, however I know there's always a next time! And if anyone ever makes a comment about my body, deep down I know I am truly happy with how I look and feel, which is what's most important to me.
3. Your skin and hair is always glowing, what are your top beauty tips to looking flawless?
Aw why thank you! Well too be honest I don't really do anything with my skin haha! I really should I know... but I have never had the need too as I've been blessed with good skin, I simply just moisturise my face everyday. And as for my hair, I try to look after it with regular treatments and try to avoid straighteners outside of work as they dry my hair out!
