Model Q&A with Saroka's first face- Sarah Park
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I don't really know what to say... Well I'm a Melbourne girl who loves to travel. I have a degree in Economics and just recently completed my post grad in psychology. In between all that I work part time in retail and have recently taken up modelling.

You’re travelling around Europe right now, for the second time around, lucky girl! Travelling means a lot to you, so what advice would you give to anyone who is thinking of travelling?
Yes travel does mean a lot to me. I'm a people person and travel allows you to meet many different people from so many different cultures. Especially living in Australia, we're so isolated from other countries so I think it's important to see how others live.
My best travel advice is to be open-minded and don’t be afraid to give something new a try, whether it be an interesting food or an outdoor adventure. Enjoy and embrace every minute of it because before you know it you're back into your usual routine of life.
You are a newcomer to the modelling industry, where do you picture yourself in 2 years time?
Hopefully in two years time I will be successful enough to be working in the industry and building up my portfolio of work. As cliché as it may sound, I want to use modelling as a platform to encourage all women and men for that matter to have that self belief and confidence in who they are as a person- both on the interior and exterior.
What are your top tips to staying fit and healthy?
To be completely honest I've never actually 'dieted' or stuck to a specific regime. I just live by the motto 'everything in moderation'. Every single person's body is completely different and I think the most important thing is to listen to yourself and be really in tune with how your body works. Being half Thai, we traditionally eat white rice with almost every meal so I love rice and other carbs, I would never cut it out of my diet completely.
I do love to exercise but then again I don't go crazy. I feel the more you push yourself and go too extreme it puts your body into stress mode and over working the body is dangerous territory!! I will do 3-4 workouts a week of about 30/45mins and usually that will include a 5km run.
Physical health is very important but I also believe mental health is just as important. I try to take some time out of my day to meditate, even if it’s just for 15 minutes.
Tell us what your average day on a plate is?
It's actually really hard for me to answer this because I don't really have the same meals all the time. Normally though breakfast will be granola with fruit and yoghurt or oats with berries. For lunch I'll either have a salad, sandwich or I'll have plain rice with steamed veggies- love my veggies!!! Dinnertime always varies- usually it will be something mum has cooked which will be a stir-fry or curry with white steamed rice.
You study psychology full time, work part time in retail plus model in between all of that! What are your tips for a work life/study balance? How do you manage the stress?
I guess time management is really important. If I'm organized with my time then I won't stress out as much. Exercise is definitely another important factor, it keeps me sane and gives me those 'feel good' vibes. I’m still very lucky that I live at home so not having to worry about doing groceries and preparing meals definitely helps as well.
Being a model, body consciousness I imagine would be at the forefront of your mind? How do you deal with this and what is your advice to other young women on body image?
Ah yes. You definitely think about it more because you are judged on your external appearance. However I just try and remind myself that this is who I am and if I don't get booked for a particular job then its ok and it's not because I'm not good enough, I’m just not exactly what the client was looking for.
My best advice to give to other young women is to remember that it's about who you are as a person that really matters, not what you look like. We are all of a different shape and size so embrace and accept your own individual physique.
Who are four of your favourite people that you follow on Insta?
- Chrissy Teigen- Absolutely love her. She's so real.
- Jshealth- her outlook on health inspires me to live a healthy life.
- Pia Miller- I'm just completely obsessed with her natural beauty- she is my biggest girl crush!
- Kylie Jenner- love the boundaries that she pushes with her individuality and not being afraid to try different looks.
Finish this sentence: "Don't let anyone......”
Dictate who you are as a person. We were all born different- so embrace and most importantly accept who you are!!
